FAIRFAX MEADOW HAS VOLUNTARILY WITHDRAWN SOME PRODUCTS DUE TO INCORRECT USE-BY DATES

Fairfax Meadow has withdrawn of some of its meat products from its customers in the catering trade.
Earlier in February the Food Standards Agency and Food Standards Scotland made unannounced inspections. They discovered changes that needed to be made to the procedures and processes the company had been using to apply use by dates on some of its products.

Fairfax Meadow has acted promptly by withdrawing any potentially affected products from the market, responded immediately to concerns, and are changing their procedures.

At no stage has there been any indication that people have become ill from eating meat supplied by Fairfax Meadow. The Food Standards Agency and Food Standards Scotland, along with local authorities, are continuing to assess the situation and are working with the business to oversee their product withdrawal.
